The 1400601SS Gritter from Gritex is a fully electric, heavy-duty salt and grit spreader featuring a robust stainless steel hopper and chute. Unlike traditional auger-driven spreaders, this model uses a powerful conveyor feed system that efficiently handles any type of salt or grit, including damp or irregularly shaped materials.

Key Features:

Electric Motors:

Powered by two ultra-quiet 12-volt DC direct-drive motors that operate the conveyor and spinner independently.

Both motors are housed in heavy-duty, weatherproof casings for reliable performance in harsh winter conditions.

Wiring harness is constructed with heavy-duty 10-gauge automotive wire featuring non-combustible sheathing rated for extreme temperatures (-50°C to -105°C).

In-cab controller offers precise, independent control of conveyor speed (grit density) and spinner speed (spread width).

Stainless Steel Hopper:

Made from premium 304 grade stainless steel with electrically welded construction.

Hopper sides are sloped at 45° for optimized material flow and extra strength, reinforced with channel-formed top edges.

Single lift point centered on the hopper’s cross support beam aligns with its centre of gravity for easy loading and unloading.

Conveyor System:

Material conveyor runs front to back, 305mm wide, using an all-steel pintle chain with a strength of 5000 Kgs per strand and a total chain strength of 10,000 Kgs.

Drive shaft equipped with heavy-duty sealed, self-aligning ball bearings and grease fittings for easy maintenance and longevity.

Feedgate:

Lever-operated with a friction lock for accurate and secure adjustment of material flow.

Spinner Chute Assembly:

Detachable stainless steel assembly featuring a 300mm non-corrosive polymer spinner disc.

Enclosed stainless steel chute guides material from the conveyor to the spinner plate, with internal and external deflectors for precise directional control.

Spread radius adjustable electronically from the cab, ranging from 600mm up to 10 metres.

Extra-wide rear deflector protects the rear and undercarriage of the vehicle from overspray.
